Jerry Ray Scott, Sr., age 70 of Hendersonville, TN passed peacefully on September 24, 2016.

Jerry was born on July 11, 1946 to the late Vechel and Aileen Scott. A lifelong resident of Hendersonville, he was a 1965 graduate of Hendersonville High School. He worked for many years in Avionics at Cornelia Fort Airpark, where he ensured his fellow pilots were safe in the air. He also enjoyed playing poker on Friday nights, riding his Harley, fishing, and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Haril "Bubba" Scott. He is survived by his brother, James (Joyce) Scott; his children: Jerry (Kris) Scott, Jr., Ty (Karen) Scott, Leigh (Trent) Bain, and Cati (Patrick) Basile; as well as nine grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jerry’s life on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 4:30-6:30 P.M. at Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street, Hendersonville (615)824-3855

    Uncle Jerry shaped my life in ways he didn’t know. It was his calmness and just the way he lived his life. He will be missed.

    JerryRay helped me out in a time of need when we lived in Nannie & granddaddy’s duplex. I really appreciated him! He always had a smile and kind words for me & the boys.

    Even though we didn’t get to spend much time with jerry ray. We know he meant a lot to our dad and we greatly appreciate everything he did for him.
