Camille Kristine Guthrie Rotier finished her journey on earth on November 26, 2018. She was born on July 17, 1946 in Memphis, TN and moved to Nashville in grade school, where she quickly became adopted into the Vaughn family.

Preceded in death by her husband, John J. Rotier, Jr., her parents, John and Margaret Guthrie, her mother-in-law, Evelyn Rotier, father-in-law, John J. Rotier, Sr., and her niece and beach buddy, Jennifer West. Survived by her children, Pat (Angie) Rotier, Teresa (Michael) Koeberlein, grandchildren, Alex McCain Koeberlein, Rachel Kristine Koeberlein, longtime companion, Richard Gallo, sister-in-law, Margaret (Jim) Crouse, brother-in-law, Charles Rotier, nephew Jacob (Meghan) Crouse, niece Charley Rotier and numerous adopted sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews from the Vaughn family.

Camille quickly became part of everyone’s family. She was unmatched in her ability to know the right thing to say or do, to provide a well-timed personal note or phone call, and to find the positive in every situation. She loved the beach, the Lady Vols, the Vols, the Titans, and most importantly, her friends and family. The number of people that she impacted is immense. From those she served at Rotier’s Restaurant, to married couples through the Engaged Couples weekends, to high school students through SEARCH, we are all better from having known her. In her memory, never pass up an opportunity to go to the beach!

Rest Aunt Camille. You fought harder than most, were brave when most would struggle, faced challenges with grace and dignity and blessed so many with your loving spirit. You rallied for me when I was fighting and buoyed my soul with ease. I love you. I miss you. I promise to put my toes in the sand for you. Ellen Easterly

Camille was a dear friend of mine at work; she was a real spark on a dull Monday morning. She was always smiling and seemed to love life each day. She always talked about her family and grandchildren, and you could tell she was proud to let you know about them all. I will always remember her as a friend and a very nice and kind person to know.
God Bless her children and family for I know she will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her as Miss Camille. . Loved you!

Camille (aka CoCo) was such a bright soul. I got the honor to know her during her time at TDOT- LRP Divison. I have many memories of her telling me about her family and grandchildren that she loved so very much. Camille also loved sports, which we would almost always end up discussing, especially about our TITANS football team. CoCo would always spoil us like we were part of her family, even during the Holidays with her great recipes and Wassail. She was a woman of faith and it showed through her life. We all will miss her, that smile and laughter she always had. May God bless and comfort her family during this difficult time. We loved her dearly and thank God for the time we had with her.

Camille and her husband John were such an important part of my my early years. The homemade cookbook she gave my wife and I for our wedding 24 years ago is still one of our go too. Such a classy lady.

Camille was always a bright spot in any day. No matter how rough of a day you were having, you could depend on her to brighten it. She had a laugh that could not help but make your day just hearing it. It never ceased to amaze me just how hard she worked to get everything done that anyone asked her to do. Always loved it when the Holidays got here and she brought the Wassail. Camille was a woman who was genuine and truly loving of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew here. CoCo you always were and are loved.

Cousin, you have always been the most optimistic and positive person ever. Always have loved and cherished our relationship, and recall with joy the many visits you and your mom and dad made to Wisconsin to visit the Guthrie side of your family. You have been a model of how to live a good life through loss and cancer with great grace. You will be missed.

I did not know Camille, but from the memories shared by family and friends it’s obvious that she was very special and loved by many. I hope you can find comfort in God’s promise to restore our dead loved ones to life here on the earth, never having to say goodbye again. Through God’s Kingdom, Jesus will make this earth the problem-free paradise that his Father intended it to be. Until that time let your memories take you back and make you smile, let prayer bring you peace and comfort, and the support from your family and friends help you through this very difficult time.- Matthew 6:9-10; Acts 24:15; Psalm 37:11, 29

Hello, I am a friend of Pat and Teresa from college days at Tennessee. Specifically Teresa’s roomate and sorority sister. I can’t tell you how excited I would get when her mom and dad would visit us at school for the weekend. They always came bearing tremendous amounts of yummy homecooked meals and treats and lucky for me, I knew I would always be included. That was just Mrs.Rotier. With her you always felt included and welcomed. That is truly a gift. When I later was engaged to be married, I too recieved the homemade cookbook which I still use 22 years later. She also gave us Christmas ornaments. My teenage daughter and I were putting up our Christmas tree this year, and for some reason when I pulled out her ornaments I told my daughter all about CoCo and how awesome she is. The very next day I heard the sad news and felt gutted. Teresa and Pat, you are so blessed to have had such a loving and wonderful mom. This world is a better place for her having been in it. She will truly be missed.
