Dear Mitzi and Mike, May you especially experience God’s compassionate presence at this time as you know it in your heart and through the multitude of prayers and consolations you receive from those whose sympathies are with you. Into God’s gracious mercy may Lauren and you be committed. Be consoled that He will receive her into His land of light and joy, and may the Spirit receive her and grow her from grace to grace in His heavenly kingdom. Dear Mitzi, We don’t know you very well nor have we known Lauren. We are from the Beckman side of the family and live in Blacksburg, VA. Our son Colin is twee months younger than your Lauren was, born in December 1984. We extend our deepest condolances and are thinking of you and Lauren. The Lord knows and loves her. He will or has received her in His light of wonder and love. May that same Light surround you; His grace and love carry you in these terribly hard days of loss and seeming separation.
With love to you and comfort in Him, Bob and Ini Beckman

I am so sorry to hear about Lauren. I understand how difficult this loss can be; I lost my youngest son Bryan, age 35 , two years ago and my younger sister, Rebecca and youngest brother TJ, just a few years previously.

I hate that you will have to walk this grief journey. When you are ready, I highly recomment a group called TCF (the CompassionateFriends.org). They have been a life saver for me.

TCF is made up of parents, grandparents and siblings of a deceased child of any age, for any cause of death. We are there for each other as support and friendship; to help each other traverse the milestones to find survival and hope along the way.

There are local chapters in most cities. The Nashville group meets the 2nd Sunday of every month at 1604 Elm Hill pike from 3-5 p..m.

They have a free newsletter you can register to receive and there are also chat groups for most categories of cause of death that you can join. I find them helpful to have someone to talk to freely, in the middle of the night; when grieving makes it impossible to sleep.

My heart goes out to you and your family. Hugs to you all!
