I remember when Memarie was born. We were.already in Texas, but my Mom and Dad we’re back in Winnsboro. My mom was so excited she could hardly wait to hold that beautiful baby. We went to see her perform at the Catfish Festival, Mom was so excited. Anytime Jerry was there or Memarie was there. Mom said we needed to go. They were both such talented, loving and caring people. I know Heaven was all a flutter when Mem gained her wings. What a joyful reunion it must have prayers and love are with her husband, her beautiful baby boy, her Mom and all of the rest of her wonderful family and many, many friends. Go rest a High on that Mountain. Love and Prayers. Nina Austin Barbee

Memarie… what a special friend (more like a blood sister to Natasha Matsumoto… my sweet niece) that you have been for over 30 years.. She loves you more than any words could express… and so do we in her family (mom Kathy, Kendyl and Jacob). You will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace sweet, beautiful, talented lady. Prayers to Neill, JD and your mom. As you girls call me – Auntie Sheila

I only spoke with her once but my life has been impacted by her. She has definitely left a mark on all of us whether we knew her well or not. A life well lived!

OMG, I am stunned by this news. The time I spent on the
road with Memarie in the music business are some of the best times ever. Her smile could light up a room and she made everyone feel like family. My heart goes out to the family. Your loss is being felt by everyone that knew her.

Memarie left an imprint of Love and Light on all of us who had the privilege to know her. Her Father Jerry was my best friend, She was the best of Him and her mother both. Oh how I would love to see the reunion with her father in heaven this week, because they both Love Jesus and others well. She has left us all better people just from being in her life. My thoughts and prayers are with Neill and their son this season.

I knew Memarie through her husband (and my colleague and friend) Neill. I met her twice; once in 2018 and once 2019. It didn’t matter how long you knew her or how many times you met Memarie, her words, kindness, undivided attention, and genuine smile left a warm and permanent feeling of love and friendship. RIP my sister. My family will be there for Neill and J.D.

Memarie, you were such a sweet, compassionate, beautiful, kind soul. I can’t believe you are gone. I grieve for your Mom, your husband, and for your precious son. I grieve for all the rest of us too, who love you and feel such an enormous empty space in our hearts. Rest in peace, beautiful lady. <3

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Memorie. She was such an inspiration to so many. I had the privilege of photographing her and Neill’s wedding many years ago. Memorie was one of the most beautiful brides that I have photographed. I absolutely loved her singing and I loved watching her with her son JD and her jewelry and the strength she showed everyday. Her love for the Lord was amazing and she remained faithful to the end. What a testimony. Neill, God bless you. I continue to pray for you and your precious JD. I ordered Memories book today as I wanted something tangible to remember this sweet and precious soul. God bless you all

Linda, This is Micki Powell. We worked together at Vanderbilt Triage sometimes . I was so, so very sorry to see Memarie’s passing in the paper. When we had a little time to talk to each other at work while on lunch or break, you often spoke about your love for Memarie, your son in law, Neill, and their beautiful baby boy, JD, and how ecstatic you all were when JD was born . You showed me pictures of Memarie and JD. You shared pieces of the beautiful jewelry she made. I felt so happy for you all and felt as if ,I knew your sweet, Memarie . I grieve for you , Linda, Neill and JD and the rest of your family.
