Steven, Thanks for your sympathy. Pat is now at peace. Her situation at the hospital was difficult. June 7 — 911 and to the hospital. Found illness no one was aware of. As you know,
after years of helping others through grief, I am now the one in grief — but that’s the way it goes. Our son has been here from Alexandria, VA, but he left this morning. Our daughter has been helpful for me, as we start dealing with the usual post-death requirements. The funeral home personnel have been helpful. Our pastor just phoned, and he is helpful. Other friends here have offered their assistance. When COVID restrictions are eased, we will have a funeral here. The burial of the cremains will be sometime in the future —- later in the summer or . . . . .
      THANKS AGAIN, John

Light is a gift. Depending on its source, light warms us, makes us feel safe, illuminates our path, and serves as a beacon to guide us. Light shows us who others are and others who we are … and are evolving to become. We depend upon our light and trust it as it envelops us.

Pat is a light that warms, guides, and illuminates the lives she has touched. As a shroud draws between her earthly presence and her transition into God’s grace, take comfort in knowing her light shines as bright as ever and is ever-present in our hearts and minds.

      Deb and Ken,
Thanks for your kind condolences. In retrospect, we realize that Pat had significant health issues before she or we realized them. We miss her already. She was well loved wherever we lived.

    To the Lekander family,
I was a teacher at CR Hanna in Orion and I remember Pat very well. Whenever I went into the office, there in that small room was Kenis and Pat. Pat always greeted me warmly and we would talk for awhile. We always found something to laugh about. She was a bright, shining face. I remember a few eye rolls in certain situations. She was a valuable part of our school community. She was so efficient and helped Kenis and everyone so much.
I know she will be missed, but she touched so many lives. I am sorry about her passing. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks you for your comments. Pat was wonderful and I miss her tremendously. Yes, she was bright and shining. The last few weeks she probably suffered more than anyone else realized. People have really been commenting about how much Pat influenced them. Thanks.

    To the Lekander Family,

Steve and I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to you. Pat was such a lovely and kind person. We were so sorry to hear she was so sick. It is difficult enough to lose your wife and mother and especially hard during the time of the virus. It is hard to give Pat the celebration and honor that she so deserves.
