    Her smile would light up a room. When she answered the phone, her voice was always, Always smiling. She shined so bright in person that all my troubles would just disappear. While I’ll miss her deeply, i know I’m going to be okay because she told me so. I’m forever grateful and blessed for the time I’ve had with this sweet angel..

    Wonderful memories of us cousins playing together as children. Even better memories of her love for my youngest son Michael who she watch in my time of need. John, may God hold you and your precious family in his arms during this time and forever. All my love Barbara.

    Words fail.

    Every love story ends. Somebody leaves;
    Somebody is left behind.
    This time, it is us.
    We are left behind.

    Regina told me hers was a very beautiful love story, and so it was—for she was in it, and her love was all homemade. She was the first bloom of azaleas and the tart sweetness of lemon meringue pie, the roar of the sea in a shell and the murky thickness of gumbo, the green clink of depressionware glass and the orange fire of Grand Marnier, the protesting creak of a front porch swing and the tantalizing aroma of baking bread. Her liberality was evidenced by the most well-stocked larder I have ever seen, for she loved a family gathering above all. In all she did, she had the grace and never-you-fear grit of a Southern belle.

    I suppose every family offers one of theirs as a shining star to the world, a fountain of joy, a household Saint. In our family, that honor would go to Regina by unanimous vote. We have known from forever.

    The most natural kindness our family ever knew came from Regina. She was our better angel. We have been blessed beyond measure, and we shall never see the like of her again.

    Hearing of Regina’s passing knocked the breath out of me. Hers was a life taken to soon. Her passing can only be understood when you believe in God’s divine plan for us all. Only in that context does any of this make sense. His will be done.

    When recalling the early cousin years that Jimmy referred to above, I can vividly see Regina’s infectious smile and hear her joy filled laughter. The times we had together as children were priceless. And then through the years when seeing her in passing she was so gracious and kind and full of love. I have not seen her in a few years but my memories of her are fresh and present. I will miss her. I am praying that she is taking in the splendor of our Lord and Savior in his heavenly kingdom.

    John, I am so sorry that you have lost your partner and friend of so many years. You’re lives together and the family you created are a testament to your love for one another. I pray for you and your family that God will give you the grace to overcome your grief and find peace. God bless you!

    Chris and family,

    I am sure your Mother is safe in the Arms of Jesus! Moms live in a special place in the hearts of their children. That’s why mothers will continue to live even after they pass on. You are all in my prayers!

    Being an older cousin, my memory is of babysitting a beautiful sweet kind little girl whose smile would melt your heart. All of you have our deepest sympathy. Rest assured she is now in the presence of God’s glory tending to His garden and praying for our souls.

    Go, Little Flower, to heaven! And enter the garden divine. Your beauty and perfume sweet memories to cherish by those left behind.

    Fly, Little Lark, with elation! Soar upwards to trill dulcet songs. And join the Excelsius Deo of that choir to which you belong.

    Sweet Flower! Melodious Singer! Regina! Our hearts shall endeavor through pain to gracefully honour your memory and cherish the love that remains.

    With love from your sister Mary.
