We are so heartbroken over the loss of Sam. (We are Sam and Melanie’s neighbors or as they would say, “William and Penny’s parents”.)

Sam was a great man. I always enjoyed our little chats; I already miss them. We would often talk while I was out walking the dogs. He loved them and would always say hello to them as if they were people, too. We find ourselves looking his direction every time we go outside, expecting to see him there.

Sam, you were such a kind soul in this world. Thank you for making those around you feel special. Until we meet again.

To all of the Strickland family….I was one of Sam’s teachers at Goodpasture…..He was an outstanding young man whom I respected immensely. He was among the very best students that I taught in my 45 year career….I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing because he was one of my “kids” and always will be…My deepest sympathy to all of you….May God give you comfort that only He can do….

I am extremely saddened for the family as well as the music scene in Nashville. I went to high school with Sam as well as many of his great friends. Always a smile and a kind spirit followed even in his shadow.

I am so sad about the sudden death of Sam. He was a very close friend to my boys, Rusty, Craig, and Chris Golden since first grade. He was a great guy, had such a sweet spirit about him. We loved him and will miss him.
