Alan C. Cartwright, 74, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. Born on April 14, 1952, in Memphis, Alan was the son of James and Betty (Cook) Cartwright.
Alan was known for his love of music, laughter, and caring for the people closest to him. A lifelong drummer and avid pool player, he especially admired jazz drummer Buddy Rich. He enjoyed watching old westerns, traveling to Gatlinburg, and spending time with family and friends. Alan was also a car enthusiast who spent years working at JB Cook Auto and Mid-State Auto Parts. He graduated from The Mills School in Fort Lauderdale. Alan found great joy in watching his grandson play sports and was always willing to lend a hand to those he loved. Above all, he cherished his wife and treasured the time spent with his family.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, JB and Myrtice (Goff) Cook.
He is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 30 years, Linda (Phillips) Cartwright; his stepchildren, Laura Bailey and John (Amy) Bailey; his grandson, Eli Bailey; his sister, Alice (Alan) Garner and nephews; and his best friend of more than 40 years, Charlie Keller.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with inurnment to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
Flowers are welcome, but donations can be made to the American Veterans.
