Obituary

Alice Jeanette Watkins Cothron, 81 years of age, passed away at home on Thursday, June 25, 2026 (62526) surrounded by her husband and four children.

She was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 23, 1945 (012345) to Christine & Gene Watkins.

She grew up in Nashville, TN and attended Dan Mills Elementary. She graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1963 and Middle Tennessee State University in 1967 with honors. She completed graduate classes at TN Tech and TN State to renew her TN teacher’s certificate. She worked for Associates Capital Corporation, National Life & Accident Insurance Company, and she retired from the State of Tennessee (F&A/OIR) in 2008 after almost 25 years of service. She was raised in Presbyterian churches and became a member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church in 1975. There she had served as a Sunday School and VBS teacher.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years (married June 3, 1967), Ronnie W. Cothron, and their four children, including daughters, Stacy C. Smith (Mark), Laura D. Allen, Ashley C. Cranford, all of Hendersonville, and son, Brandon D. Cothron (Marissa Bond) of Brentwood, grandchildren Clint Allen (Breah), Austin Allen (Reece), Jared Smith, Jordan Smith (Fiancé Ryan Hitch), Brayden Cranford, Wyatt Allen, Nora Bond, and Caroline Cothron, great-grandchild, Rhett Allen, and sister Beth Luttrull (Larry), nephews Andy (Jessica) and Brian (Char), great-nephews Michael and Matthew, as well as many other extended family members.

Visitation will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home on June 30th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Son, grandsons, and son-in-law will serve as pall bearers.
