Mr. Arthur William Murphy, Jr., age 80, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.

Mr. Murphy was born in Queens, NY, on August 26, 1939, the son of the late Arthur William Murphy, Sr. and Annette Neikunas Murphy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Murphy was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He retired from Con Edison, an electric company, as a supervisor. Mr. Murphy loved his farm, horses and cattle. He also loved cooking and was happiest when pleasing his family with a homemade meal.

He will be missed and remembered most by his family for the love he bestowed on everyone. For as much as he loved, is as much as he was loved. His family came first and he was an amazing family man. His story telling and sense of humor created continuous laughter. He lives on in the hearts of his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his brother, George Murphy and sister, Terry Lee.

Survivors include his wife, Aida Carrion Murphy, to whom he was married on 11-18-1978; three sons, Michael Murphy (Kristine), Danny Murphy, and Ralph Ricci; a daughter, Donna Dutton (Ken); and two sisters, Pat Rich (David) and Paula Moore (Tom); grandchildren, Nicole Mitchell (Eddie), Chris Ricci (Ariel), Joey Corso (Whitney), Jaclyn Corso, Greg Murphy (Angel), Jessica Blades (Jason); and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, Bentley Corso, Kobey Corso, Aidan Murphy, Ethan Murphy, Ian Murphy, Aria Murphy, Bella Rose Murphy, Taylor Blades, Brandon Murphy, and Tyler Murphy.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kalam officiating. Inurnment will follow at Anderson and Son Memorial Park (997 TN-52 Scenic, Lafayette, TN 37083) with military honors.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Center at NPCF, P.O. Box 1848
