Benjamin Louis Alley, 83, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on the morning of August 9, 2023, with his daughters by his side during a short stay at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.

He was born December 20, 1939, to the late Benjamin Wells Alley and Muriel Livingston Alley of Rogersville, TN.  After graduating from Rogersville High School, he attended trade school at Pressman’s Home in the Poor Valley area of Hawkins County, TN.  Ben Louis spent the majority of his business career at several Nashville printing/publishing houses.

During a weekend trip to Gatlinburg with his daughters, he was introduced to snow skiing and it became a favorite activity for him for many years.  In more recent years he began taking dance lessons and was a member of the Nashville Swing Dance Club.

In addition to his parents, Ben Louis is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ann Gladson Alley and his brothers Owen Alley and Leroy Alley.  He is survived by his daughters Deniece Scales (Mike Young) and Jennifer Durham (Randall Brown); grandchildren Kristin Bailey (Chris Plamondon), Mark Scales (Julia), and Adam Scales; great grandchildren Jenna Bailey, Tristan Bailey, Elizabeth Scales, Beasley Scales, and Kimber Plamondon; four step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; many nieces and a nephew; his long time companion, Sherry Allison; his pet horse, Babe, and his faithful canine companion, Jackson.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday afternoon August 26, 2023, at Christ is Love Church, 1004 Drakes Creek Road, Hendersonville, TN.  Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 followed by a memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alive Hospice or your favorite charity in Ben Louis’ memory.
