Betty C. Hilgadiack, age 89, of Gallatin, TN passed away on February 15th, 2024. Betty Hilgadiack was born on August 20, 1934 to Charles Buford and Jessie Deane Lipscomb.

Betty was a member of Gallatin First United Methodist Church for 47 years. Betty grew up at Monroe Harding Children’s Home in Nashville. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in Nashville, TN in 1951. She was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s for more than 50 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Betty managed the restaurants for Cain Sloan’s in Nashville. Betty retired after 18 years’ service from Gallatin Senior High School as the Cafeteria Manager in 1995. Betty had a distinguished career in the food service industry. She loved Gallatin football and loved all the students she fed. Her highlight was during football season to make a cake and serve to the entire football team on Friday mornings. After retirement Betty was the Hospitality Coordinator at Gallatin First United Methodist Church serving Wednesday night meals, meals for shut-ins, and receptions. Betty was an avid knitter. She loved to travel and visit historical sites and travel with her lodge and sorority. Betty served many years as a board member with the Sumner County United Way.

Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother Charles Buford and Jessie Deane Lipscomb and her husband Billy Hilgadiack.

Betty is survived by her three sons Steve, Stan, and Scott Hilgadiack; Daughter-in-laws Suzanne Hilgadiack, and Rhonda Hilgadiack; Grandchildren Lauren Allen and husband Jon, Danielle Yates and husband John Robert, Vanessa Pullon and husband Daniel, Nichole Ayers and husband Tony, and Joshua Hilgadiack and wife Candy; Great Grandchildren Spencer, Garrett, Wesley, and Corbin Allen; Annabelle and Isaac Yates; Luke Pullon; Dylan, Julia, and Kylie Ayers; Abigail Hilgadiack, and Ridge Melton. Brother Charles Lipscomb, sister-in-law Mary Lipscomb, and Sister Deane Webb.

Visitation and Funeral will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, 353 Johnny Cash Parkway, Hendersonville, TN 37075, on Monday, February 19, 2024. Visitation will be 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. An Odd Fellows and Rebekah service will be at 6:30 pm and Funeral to follow at 7:00 pm. Family internment will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 am.
