Bettye H. Hale, of Hendersonville, passed away on June 1, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1939 to the late Willam and Ruby Hand. A cherished member of her community, Bettye leaves behind a legacy enriched by her dedication to family, career, and faith.
Bettye enjoyed a longstanding banking career, dedicating her professional life to First American National Bank and Regions Bank. Her commitment to public service extended beyond banking, as she also served at the Sumner County Register of Deeds, where she was known for her diligent work ethic and warm interactions with the community.
Education was a significant aspect of Bettye's life, having attended North High School, where she met her beloved husband, Doug. The friendships forged during that time remained dear to her, and she actively participated in the North High Alumni Association, enjoying monthly luncheons that kept those connections alive.
Bettye's faith played a pivotal role in her life as a longstanding member of the Friendship Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville. Her involvement in church activities brought her joy and fulfillment, providing her with a strong network of friends and a supportive community.
In addition to her parents, Bettye is preceded in death by her son, Trent Hale (surviving spouse, Teresa Patterson); her granddaughter, Mary Payton Vigil; and her brother, Buster Hand (spouse, Darlene).
Bettye is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Doug Hale; her children, Nikki Hale Vigil (spouse, Joe) and Teresa Patterson (spouse, Allen); her brother, Tommy Hand (spouse, Carol); and her grandchild, Maison Vigil.
Bettye is remembered with great affection, and her contributions to her family and community will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 353 E Main St, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place from 3:00 PM at the same location.
