Billie Bates

Billie Jean Bates, 92, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023.  Billie was born on September 3, 1930, to Robert A. and Myrtle (Grisham) Green in Nashville, Tennessee.

Billie Jean worked as an accounting clerk with the Metro Water Department.  She attended Metro Baptist Church in Goodlettsville.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert O. Bates and is survived by her son Robert Parker; daughter Amy Shonting; grandchildren Adam Shonting and Kelly Shonting; great-grandchild Alexis Shonting; niece and nephews Ellen, Lonnie, Mike, Phil, and David Dillard; cousins Bobby and Jimmy Smith; stepdaughters Cheryl (Rick) Smith of Florida and Angie (Jim) Holloway of Greenbrier along with numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

An informal Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 1-3pm at Goodlettsville Church located at 411 S. Main Street, Goodlettsville, TN  37072.
