Bradley Eugene Sousa, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 62.

1 John 3:18 - 23 says, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.”

Brad and the life he lead was a living testament to this Scripture. His love for God and for people is what made Brad one of a kind. Whether in the home or in the workplace, Brad lived a life loving not just with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Brad was a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support to his family. He brought comfort and joy to all who knew him, and his memory will forever be treasured in our hearts. We seek comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the lives of his children and Grandchildren and in the countless individuals whose lives he enriched.

In his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at AVI Systems, Brad’s dedication and passion for innovation was instrumental in elevating the industry and his work made an impact around the world. He also served on the board of AVIXA, the AV Industry’s largest trade association, and was a three-time recipient of the Smithsonian Award for Technology in Academics. Brad was loved and respected by all he worked with.

Deeply rooted in his faith, Brad found joy in ministering to his Park Church family and a men’s ministry called Move the Fight Forward. His unwavering devotion and love for Jesus inspired many to live courageously in their faith.

In his leisure time, Brad found joy in his hobbies. A skillful bass player, Brad had a deep appreciation and love for music, particularly Jazz. Cooking with his family was cherished family affair, a time of togetherness and warmth, creating treasured memories. Brad found joy and freedom in riding his Harley alongside his beloved wife, embracing the beauty of the open road together.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. with Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in California.

Bradley Eugene Sousa will be deeply missed by his family, friends, work colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering love, dedication, and commitment to his loved ones and his community will forever be remembered and cherished. Well done, good and faithful servant, on a race well run.

In lieu of flowers, this special fund within Healthbridge Global has been established at the request of Janele and family. The work of Healthbridge has been near to both Brad and Janele's hearts, and something they've personally supported. All partnership gifts will be used to support critical, missional healthcare projects like: new pediatric clinics in remote regions of Egypt, medical care for Afghan refugees, quality maternal healthcare in Eastern Europe, and mental healthcare for orphans in Romania, among others. Thank you for your desire to honor Brad by honoring something he cared about. Brad...you will be greatly missed.
