Carey Adkins

Carey “Buddy” Adkins, age 86, passed away on February 3, 2023.  Buddy was born on March 8, 1936 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Fred and Ruby Adkins.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee Adkins; sisters, Freddie Mae White and Ivy E. Bertrand; and niece, Tammy Michelle Watkins.  Buddy is survived by his sister, Edna “Porky” Hastings; niece, Debbie Smith (Terry); and nephews, David Watkins (Kim), Fred Bertrand, and Joseph Bertrand.

Buddy served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  He was a welder with Nashville Bridge Company.  Buddy then retired from Hendersonville Hospital.  He was a member of the Hendersonville Church of the Nazarene.  Buddy loved life, history, and his family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Duane Harris officiating.   A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

Joey Bertrand, Fred Bertrand, David Watkins, Terry Smith, Timothy Mullins, and Nicky Aubrey will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers will be accepted or a donation to Hendersonville Home Bound Meals Program can be made in Buddy’s honor.
