Carol Ann Schwabe

Carol Ann Schwabe age 97 of Hendersonville, TN passed away on August 14, 2025. Born February 8, 1928 in Flat Rock, Indiana, The daughter of Russell Wilson Cochran and Reba Katherine (Chesser) Cochran and one sister Mary Francis (Lenny) Murphy, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Kirk (Janet) and Kip Schwabe of Hendersonville, TN. Two granddaughters, Amanda (Jose) Perez of Los Angeles, CA and Sarah (Travis) Gordon of Boulder, CO and great-granddaughter, Opal Gordon. Also two nieces and her nephew from Indiana, Nancy (Alex) Cannon, Sharon (Jeff) Hood, and Bob (Beverly) Murphy. Carol attended Franklin High School in Franklin, Indiana, She furthered her education at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, and later at the Kansas City Art School where she met her husband Karl. The couple married on Oct. 19, 1950 in San Francisco, CA and were married for 72 years before he preceded her in death. Carol and Karl both found great joy in their granddaughters and passed on their love of art to them. In her early years, Carol employed her talents as a fashion illustrator for William H. Block in Indianapolis, Indiana. Carol had a profound talent and appreciation for art, fashion, illustration and watercolor painting. She was a remarkable artist and brought much beauty and joy into the world with her creations. Carol was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Hendersonville, TN.

Carol loved spending time with family, church, painting watercolor pictures and playing bridge. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11:00 am.
