Charles Thomas Simerka passed away on September 10, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Charles was born on March 24, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan to Charles Frank and Dorothy (Healey) Simerka.
Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman and a talented chef. He was a devout Catholic and was a member and lector at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Old Hickory.
Charles is preceded in death by his father Charles Frank Simerka and his brother Steven M. Simerka. He is survived by his loving wife Rosa Dye, mother Dorothy Simerka, daughter Hannah Dye, sister Barbara Simerka, sister-in-law Nicole Simerka, nieces Keira Vollandt and Sloan Simerka, nephew Steven M. Simerka II, and a host of family and friends. Charles’ love, laughter, and humor will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 4pm-8pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home, with eulogies and music at 7 pm and a rosary to be recited at 7:30. At Charles’ request this will be a true celebration of life, and the dress code is festive : Hawaiian, floral or colorful attire.
Mass will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Old Hickory on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11am with a committal service to follow at 3pm at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
