Charlie “Wayne” Hyatt, a loving father and grandfather, passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Known to everyone as Wayne, he was deeply loved by his family and was a longtime resident of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Born on September 9, 1944, in Pulaski, Tennessee, Wayne lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and deep love for his family. He served Sumner County for more than 30 years as an Assistant District Attorney, a role he carried out with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. Outside of his work, Wayne found joy in being outdoors, working on projects around his home and barn, and caring for his horses. Above all else, Wayne loved his family fiercely—especially his two granddaughters, who held a very special place in his heart.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Manchenko (husband Stanislav Manchenko), and his two beloved granddaughters, Mia and Sofia Manchenko. He is also survived by Gail Hyatt, the mother of his child, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Deleader Hyatt, and his sisters, Margaret May, Ruth Norman, and Ivadell Bradley.
A memorial service honoring Wayne’s life will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 3:00pm in the chapel. A visitation will begin two hours prior to the service from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. All are welcome to attend.
