Clata Mullinix Vaughn

February 27, 1940 — October 26, 2025

With love and gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of Clata Mullinix Vaughn, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, announces her peaceful passing on October 26, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on February 27, 1940, Clata accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 12, beginning a walk of faith that shaped every part of her life. She graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1961 with a degree in Medical Technology and dedicated her career to serving others with skill, compassion and integrity.

Clata was married to the love of her life, Roger Vaughn, for 42 wonderful years before his passing in 2006. Together, they built a home filled with faith, love and laughter.

A faithful Christian, Clata was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, where she served quietly and consistently, offering her kindness, encouragement and prayerful support to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Nathan Vaughn (Stephanie) and Nicole Vines (Jack); grandchildren Nate Vaughn, Malayna Vines, Savannah Vaughn, Marin Vines, Landon Vaughn, and Sawyer Vines; her brother, Jerry Mullinix (Faye) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hazel Mullinix, and her brother, Robert Mullinix (Sandra).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 11 am - 1 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, TN 37075). The funeral service for Mrs. Vaughn will begin at 1 pm at the same location. Burial will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices knowing she is reunited with Roger and in the presence of her Savior. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure and her faith an example to all.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Clarendale at Indian Lake, Aveanna Hospice and all the caregivers who were so loving and comforting through these last few years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Clata’s memory.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
