Cliff McKee

Jul 15, 1947 — Jun 17, 2026

James Clifton McKee, 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on June 17, 2026.

Born on July 15, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee, James was the son of Walter Clifton McKee and Ellen Elizabeth McKee. He graduated from Hume Fogg High School in 1967 and spent the majority of his career in aircraft inspection.

Above all else, James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with Sheila Lane McKee. Together they built a family that was the center of his world.

James especially cherished the time he spent with his four grandsons. Whether attending their activities, talking sports, or simply enjoying being together, they brought him immeasurable joy. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was an avid University of Tennessee fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Volunteers.

He will be remembered for his strength and unwavering love for his family, and the steady example he set throughout his life. His legacy will live on through the countless memories he created and the love he gave.

James is survived by his wife Sheila Lane McKee; his three sons, Stephen McKee (Jamie), Jeffrey McKee (Leanna), and Michael McKee; his four grandsons, Caleb McKee, Lane McKee, Cooper McKee, and Carson McKee; and his brother, Bobby McKee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Clifton McKee and Ellen Elizabeth McKee.

While our hearts grieve his absence, we find peace in knowing James has been welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior. His race has been run, his work is complete, and he has found eternal rest. His memory will continue to be a blessing for generations to come.
