Cliff was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 26th, 1940, the beloved son of Florian and Rachel Ernst. Growing up in a modest home, Cliff developed a strong work ethic. His drive, leadership skills, and ability to relate to all people lead him to a successful professional career. Despite his professional achievements, Cliff remained humble and true to his roots.

Above all, Cliff was a dedicated family man; Cliff's greatest joy was found in the company of his loved ones. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Dede for 60 years; a loving father to his three children, Steven (Kelli), J.R. In his leisure time, Cliff could often be found around automobiles, a true passion that brought him joy. He had a deep appreciation for collectible cars and enjoyed sharing his passion with others.
