Captain Clyde T. Davis, Sr."Papa" age 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2020 in Hendersonville, TN. He was born on January 8, 1924 to the late Clyde Farris and Willie Bell Davis. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sue Theresa Watson Davis; son, Edward Nathanial Davis "Eddie"; and two sisters, Dorothy Jean Vanderpool and Elizabeth Hellen Jones.

Papa was a devoted husband of 56 years, loving father and papa to everyone. Papa had a contagious laugh, loved to dance, his time spent living on the lake, the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, NASCAR, and was loved by all.

Papa was a World War II Veteran, Six Armored Division, and 175th Tank Battalion Division Commander. He was also a member of the National Guard for 19 years following his service and also a member of VFW Hendersonville.

He was an original, active member in many areas of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville, TN; and a member of The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.

Papa was also a proud, active charter member of the YMCA in Hendersonville, TN.

Papa is survived by his children, Clyde T. Davis, Jr. "Tommy", Teri Davis Wilson, Tim (Janice) Davis, Mark Davis, and Pat (Lisa) Davis; 19 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 12PM, Friday, January 31st, at Our Lady of the Lake in Hendersonville. Family will receive friends from 4-8PM on Thursday at the church and a rosary service will be held at 7:30PM on Thursday.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray Scott, Jr.; Ty Davis Scott, Chris Davis, Jon Davis, Brian Davis, Brady Davis, Derrick Davis, Chris V. Davis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all granddaughters, Melocha, Renee, Chandra, Theresa Leigh, Cati, Tisha, Stephanie, Brettany, Rachel, and Niki.

Family asks that in lieu of flower donations be made to Our Lady of the Lake Haiti Ministry.
