Cynthia Sweeney

December 23, 1953 — December 11, 2025

Gallatin

Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Sweeney, 72, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and proud Grammy, Cindy was known best for her radiant smile, giving spirit, and unwavering strength.

Born on December 23, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Cindy was the cherished daughter of the late Fred and Betty Jo Stickle. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Douglas Sweeney, her beloved daughter Amanda Burnett, her sister Linda (Joe) Reel.

She is also survived by Alex (Adrienne) Sweeney, Gary (JoAnn) Sweeney, Patrick (Eileen) Sweeney, Janet (Michael) Cain, Carol (Paul) Hines, Maryann (Jeffrey) Easton, Dale (Char) Sweeney, David (Rhylin) Sweeney, Leo (Nora) Sweeney, Kathleen (Dan) Moore, Colleen (Michael) Pattullo, Paula (Durand) Ashford

She is also survived by her treasured grandson Brooks, who brought immense joy and purpose to her final years.

Cindy dedicated many years of her life to a successful career as a stockbroker, where she formed lifelong friendships with her colleagues. Upon moving to Tennessee, she discovered a new passion for real estate, joining Keller Williams and quickly rising to success as “Rookie of the Year” and a high-earning agent. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for others earned her the admiration of clients and peers alike.

Though Cindy shined in her career, her most cherished title was that of “Grammy” or “Bubby.” Becoming a grandmother in June 2023 filled her life with renewed joy and gave her strength through 83 weeks of treatment, always with a smile and never a complaint.

Cindy’s kindness extended beyond her family—she faithfully rang the bell for the Salvation Army every birthday and delighted in helping others, whether through a delivered meal, a gift left in secret, or a tender word at just the right time. She loved catching up with friend, gardening, caring for her boxers, and traveling with her family.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m. and burial at 3 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 353 E Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee.
