Daniel Joseph Wessels

Daniel Joseph Wessels, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. A graveside memorial service will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

Born in Galesburg, Illinois on May 13, 1960, Daniel spent most of his childhood growing up in the West Burlington and Burlington, Iowa area and graduated from Notre Dame High School with the class of 1978. Daniel loved playing sports during school, especially basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf, going on family fishing trips, and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys football fan. He moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee with his parents in 1983 and lived in several Tennessee locations before settling in Cookeville, Tennessee near the end of his life.

Daniel is predeceased by his brother David Wessels, his mother Dolores Wessels, and his father Charles Richard (Dick) Wessels. He is survived by five siblings: Pamela Greene, Richard Wessels, John Wessels, Melissa Wessels, and Susan Ryerson.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial and burial service being held graveside at Hendersonville Memory Gardens on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
