Born in North Miami, Florida, David was the son of George Cook and Barbara Miller Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Rhonda Cook, and his brother, Douglas Cook.

David is survived by his three daughters: Carrin Meadows of Marietta, Georgia; Amy Robertson (Paul) of Marietta, Georgia; and Molly Cook of Hendersonville, Tennessee. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Meadows, Braden Meadows, and Kate Robertson, as well as his treasured great-granddaughter, Parker Meadows, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. A gifted athlete, David's love of baseball began at an early age and led him to play baseball at Florida State University. He later fulfilled a lifelong dream by playing professional baseball in the minor league system. His passion for the game never faded, and he remained a devoted fan and coach throughout his life.

David was a loyal supporter of the Florida State Seminoles and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including family gatherings, sharing stories from his baseball days, meals at Maggiano's Little Italy, and more than an occasional box of Krispy Kreme donuts.

Above all, David loved his family. He was a proud father and peepaw whose faith, strength, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed. His family will forever cherish the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared so freely.

Though his presence will be greatly missed, his legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
