David Nakauchi

David Hideichi Nakauchi was born on December 24, 1931, in Los Angeles, California. He passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Gallatin, TN at the age of 93.

Dave is survived by his wife of 66 years, Akiko Munemitsu Nakauchi; his two daughters: Kris (Paul) Dent, Carol (Tom) Cirone; his grandchildren: Mark (Sarah) Smith, Casey (Jordon) Morch; three great grandchildren: Julia Smith, Meghan Smith and Kellen Morch.

Spending most of his life in California, he worked outdoors at the family nursery and landscaping business and then later at the Munemitsu family farm. He loved working outdoors and knew everything about plants and gardening. When he wasn’t working, he spent time with family, watched his favorites teams, the Lakers and Rams, or indulged at the nearest casino.

Dave was a happy, helpful fellow and everybody’s memories of him include his laugh. We will forever miss hearing that laugh but will always carry it in our hearts.

Following his wishes, we will take him home to the California beaches.
