Deborah Mary (Irving) Bentrem
April 4, 1951 – September 6, 2026
Deborah “Debbie” Mary Bentrem, 75, passed away on September 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born Deborah Mary Irving on April 4, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the youngest daughter of Frederick and Mary Irving. The baby of the family, Deborah grew up with her older sisters, Jacqueline Affatato and Linda Brady.
In 1972, Deborah married Robert Joseph Bentrem, and the two shared 54 years of marriage. Together, they built a life, raised their daughters, Tara Ann Bentrem Fisher and Michelle Marie Bentrem Wooden, and created a family that remained at the center of Deborah’s world.
To many outside her family, though, Deborah was simply “Mrs. B.”
She was a beloved cafeteria lady and a devoted band mom — the kind of person students remembered long after their school days were over. Mrs. B had a way of becoming part of the lives of the kids around her. She wasn’t just the woman behind the cafeteria counter or someone’s mom helping with the band. She was Mrs. B, and that meant something.
Deborah was deeply proud of her family. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Tara Ann Fisher and her partner, Matt Jones; her daughter, Michelle Marie Wooden and her husband, Shannon Wooden; her grandson, Christopher Ashe Seely; her sister, Jacqueline Affatato; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Helen Bentrewicz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Mary Irving; her sister, Linda Brady; her son-in-law, Corporal Jason D. Fisher; and her niece, Celina Bentrewicz.
There are some people who pass through your life quietly, and then there are those who become part of the stories you keep telling years later. Debbie — Mom, Grammy, sister, wife, and forever Mrs. B — was one of those people.
And if you ever called her Mrs. B, chances are you already have a story of your own.
