Donald L. Jolley

Donald Lee Jolley, 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Donald was born on December 30, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee to Joe E. and Annie Alice (Sadler) Jolley.

Donald loved sports, he was a huge Vols fan, Atlanta Braves fan, and an avid golfer. He coached Hendersonville Girls softball for 10 years. Donald proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Kearsage during Viet Nam. After leaving the Navy, Donald began working for Oscar Meyer and after retiring from Oscar Meyer began his second career with Harcross Chemical. Donald was the youngest of 12 children. It was growing up in a large family that gave Donald the knowledge that family is the most important part of life. He was proud of his family, and his love for family and humor will be missed.

Donald is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years Nellie (Hunter) Jolley; his son Darryl Crutcher; granddaughter Marcia Jill Godfrey; his parents Joe and Annie Jolley; and his 10 brother and sisters. He is survived by his children Darlene (Van) Godfrey, Jeff (Mary) Crutcher, Jennifer (Brian) Morales, and Jackie Jolley; grandchildren Adam (Nicole) Godfrey, Elizabeth Tucker, Mary Kathryn (Adam) Bennett, Emily (Jeff) Dench, Barbara (Terrance) Simpson, Hunter Gooch, and Morgan Gooch; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Dot Waffird along with a large extended family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 5pm-8pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11am at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
