Douglas W. Jernigan, 86, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Douglas was born on April 13, 1939, in Manchester, Tennessee to Austin and Claudia (Tolbert) Jernigan.

Douglas was a fun-loving man with a deep faith. He enjoyed living a healthy life by eating right, working out, and lifting weights. Douglas was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and retired from Peterbilt after 30 plus years of service. He always spoke his mind but in a loving way, enjoyed fast cars, especially his Corvette. Douglas deeply loved his children and grandchildren, but his true love was his wife of 52 years Aileen.

Douglas is preceded in death by his loving wife Aileen and his six siblings. He is survived by his daughters Sharon (Stan) Knight and Cindi (Dave) Ordonez; grandchildren Karista (Chris) Gallimore, Dallas (Cynthia) Knight, Zach Ordonez, and Lucy Ordonez. In addition, he is survived by his three great-grandchildren Eli, Caleb, and Ellie.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 11am-12pm at Goodlettsville Church (Cumberland Presbyterian) located at 226 S. Main Street in Goodlettsville. A Celebration of Life will begin at 12pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Alive Hospice.
