Eva Frances Knobel Kestner of Hendersonville passed away on January 30, 2024 at the age of 89. She was born on December 1, 1934 to Rhoda and William Knobel in Nashville. She enjoyed going to church, Vanderbilt athletics, spending time with her family and reading daily scriptures. She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army Church. She graduated from North High School in 1953. She worked for Steiner and Lift which became Leggatt and Platt from 1970 to 1999.
Eva was preceded in death by Rhoda and William Knobel (parents), Porter Knobel (brother), Doris Fuller (sister), William Knobel (brother), David Knobel (brother), Billie Ann Holleman (sister), Fred Knobel (brother), Marie Grisby (sister), and her beloved husband of 42 years Albert W. Kestner. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Pam Kee (Tony); grandchildren Courtney Frazer (Matt) and Chad Rice; great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Crossett, Kayleigh Rice, Eva Frazer, Ellie Frazer, Ben Rice and Sophie Rice; and siblings, Joe Knobel (Judy), Linda Kohagen (Jim), and Helen Jones (Buster).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin immediately following visitation with Major Barry Corbitt officiating. Burial will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army in Eva Kestner’s honor.
