Flo Jean Schlosser

December 18, 1936 — August 14, 2025

Flo Jean Schlosser, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Flo Jean was born on December 18, 1936, in San Diego, CA to James E. and Virginia (Van Wormer) Hard.

Even though she was born in San Diego, Flo Jean and her twin sister, Eva Jane, grew up the darlings of the town in West Plains, Missouri. She loved to read, sing and especially to play bridge. She has probably already started a bridge club in Heaven. She married the love of her life, Don Schlosser, on March 3, 1957, recently celebrating 68 years of marriage. Flo Jean and Don made their home in Hendersonville for 60 years. While she did work outside of the home, she was extremely active in the community. She was an original member of the “Friends of Rock Castle” in the early 1970s and was a registrar for the Sumner County Election Commission for most of her adult life. She was a member of the League of Women Voters and was active in the local theater company. She loved her church and was a founding member of St. Michael’s Anglican Church in Gallatin, Tennessee. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Holy Cross. Flo Jean was loved by all, and she made sure that everyone around her knew that they were loved, too. She never met a stranger and would hug anything that moved. Even telemarketers would call her back for life advice. Her love, laughter, and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Flo Jean is preceded in death by her parents “Good” and “Beanie”, and her granddaughter Samantha Strawn. She is survived by her devoted husband Don, her twin sister Eva Jane Johnston, son Kenny (Kimberly) Schlosser, and daughters Katie (Danny) Strawn, and Kerry (William) Henson. In addition, she is survived by her grandsons Jacob Strawn, Joey Henson, Chris Henson, and her nephew Bobby (Debbie) Johnston.

The family has designated St. Michael’s Anglican Church for memorial contributions, 105 Shiloh Road, Gallatin, TN 37066.
