Helen Ruth Johnson, born on April 29, 1940, departed this life on July 26, 2026, leaving behind a profound legacy marked by determination and kindness.

Helen was a well-known presence in Sumner County, where she dedicated herself to the real estate business for over five decades. Her career was not merely a profession; it was a remarkable journey of passion and excellence. For more than 50 years, Helen sold real estate throughout Sumner County, earning widespread respect and admiration. She was a proud and longstanding member of the Million Dollar Club, consistently achieving a level of success that set her apart from her colleagues. During the 1980s and 1990s, she was recognized as a dominant force in the local real estate industry—a true trailblazer who helped shape the community and touched countless lives through her work.

Yet Helen’s influence extended far beyond her professional accomplishments. She was known for living life on her own terms—embracing every challenge with determination and grace. Her warm heart and unwavering ethics impacted not just those she worked with but also friends and acquaintances she encountered along life’s path. Helen valued personal connections deeply and will be remembered for her generosity, her strong spirit, and her supportive presence.

Helen took immense pride in her family, which was the true center of her world. Among her proudest accomplishments were her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Granga.” They brought her joy and fulfillment, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Teri Waddell (Ray) , and her son, Jesse Ronald Maggart Jr, and her dear sister, Rebecca Bethea. She is also survived grandchildren include Lauren Greer (Jake), and Justin, Jordan and Jesse Maggart; great-grandchildren Carsyn Henderson, Jace Greer, Riley Greer, Marlee Maggart, Adelyn Maggart, and Millie Maggart, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Cecelia Binkley, and her brother-in-law, Don Bethea.
