Huber Greer

Mr. Huber Edward Greer 87, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Mr. Greer was born in Nashville, TN, on September 19, 1933, the son of the late Ralph McVey and Cassie Mildred Horn McVey. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Greer graduated from Father Ryan High School and earned his bachelor's degree in History from Middle TN State University. He was a member of McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church, Toastmasters Club, and Portland Lions Club. Mr. Greer retired from Farmer's Market Warehouse as a manager after many years of service. He enjoyed spending time at the family farm, golfing, nature, and history, but most of all being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Bettye J. Greer, to whom he was married on October 24, 1957; three children, Greer Lynn Cripps (Eddie R.), Eddie Greer, and Laurie Swan (Eddie); seven grandchildren, Brandon (Tosha), Hayley (Billy), Eddie, Jr. (Angie), Kaitlyn (Adam), Kacie (Joe), Morgan (Will), and Jay (Kayla); seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mike McVey.

A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church's Men Club, 208 Wheeler Street Portland, TN 37148.
