Colonel Jack O. Hayes age 94, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

Colonel Hayes was born in Nashville, TN, on August 30, 1925, the son of the late Allen Hayes and Anna Morris Hayes. Colonel Hayes served in the United States Army during World War II and retired as Colonel after forty- two years of service. He graduated from West Point Academy and later from Vanderbilt University earning his Master's Degree in Psychology. After retirement Colonel Hayes worked for the State of TN for ten years. He was a member of St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church. Colonel Hayes enjoyed cruises with his wife, reading, and crossword puzzles. In addition to his parents, Colonel Hayes was preceded in death by five sisters.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Arvelia Hayes, to whom he was married on March 22, 1956; three daughters, Terry Shahrivar (Shahryar), Deborah Hayes, and Melissa Hayes; two grandchildren, Phillip Shahrivar (Courtney Madsen) and Shireen Shahrivar (Keith Bolling); and a brother, James "Gabby" Hayes (Linda). Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside and interment services will be held Friday, July 24, 2020, at Noon, Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
