Mr. James (“Jamie”) Douglas Frazor, age 82, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
Mr. Frazor was born in the Shackle Island community of Hendersonville, TN, on March 11, 1942, the son of the late Herman D. Frazor and Vera Roberts Frazor. He was a long-time member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ, serving as a deacon for a number of years. He was a selfless Christian man, a loving & devoted husband, and a giving & caring father & grandfather. He loved God and his family more than anything else.
Mr. Frazor retired from a career at Dupont/Reemay/Fiberweb in Old Hickory, TN in 2008 after 40 years of employment. In his spare time over the years, he enjoyed horseback riding with his brothers and daughters, camping, hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, karaoke singing, and spending time with his extensive Roberts/Frazor family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Frazor was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Freda Caldwell Frazor, and his youngest brother, Louis Frazor.
Survivors include his two daughters, Christie Rochelle (Roger) and Kim Carter (Scott); a friend who was like another daughter, Susan Whitehurst (Mickey); four grandchildren, Mikalee Whitehurst, Landon Carter, Daniel Rochelle, and Aubrey Carter; an older sister, Louise Watkins; two younger brothers, Albert Frazor (June) and Arty Frazor; and a cousin who was like an older brother, Bobby Timmons (Mary Ann).
Visitation will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held Saturday morning, August 3, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Hendersonville Church of Christ. Funeral Services will immediately follow at the church starting at 10:00 A.M. with Keith Parker and Clyde Head officiating. Mausoleum entombment services will occur thereafter at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers: Albert Frazor, Arty Frazor, Jimmy Caldwell, Justin Frazor, Danny Johnson, and Emanuel Clemons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Timmons, Roger Rochelle, Scott Carter, Landon Carter, Daniel Rochelle, Mickey Whitehurst, the Wednesday Senior Moments group at Hendersonville Church of Christ, the C-Shift at Reemay, Inc., and the Thursday Night Pickers.
