James Russell McCord, known affectionately as "Moe," passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on May 27, 1961, in Madison, Tennessee. He graduated from White House High School.

Moe was great at fixing things and often helped with landscaping and outdoor chores for family and friends. No matter the size of the job, he was always willing to lend a hand. In addition to spending time with his family, Moe had many hobbies and interests. He was passionate about landscaping, gardening, beekeeping, reading, hiking, and collecting guns.

Moe cherished his time with his grandchildren, dedicating moments to teaching them not only math and the use of basic tools but also about the plants and animals found in their yard. He nurtured their curiosity, always eager to engage them in the wonders of nature. Moe had a particular passion for planting trees, host plants for butterflies, and bamboo; he took joy in bringing frogs, turtles, and caterpillars to share with the grandchildren. His playful spirit was evident in the way he encouraged them to climb trees and introduced them to the thrill of riding motorcycles.

Moe is survived by his ex-wife of thirty-nine years, Jeanette McCord; daughters Rhiannon McCord-Stewart and Monica McCord-Krause; son-in-law Adam Krause; and grandchildren Gabriel Stewart, Madeleine Stewart, Cecilia Goodwin, Layla Goodwin, and Jody "Bill" Goodwin. He also leaves behind his brother Tim Pharris and sister-in-law Brandi Pharris.

He was preceded in death by his father Perry Dean McCord, mother Mattie Jean Cox, and his sisters Melanie McCord Smith and Cynthia McCord Owen. Moe’s spirit and generosity will be cherished by all who knew him.
