Mrs. Janice Poe Downs age 80, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Mrs. Downs was born in Columbia, TN, on October 22, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert R. Poe and Sara Ferguson Poe. She was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ. Mrs. Downs was full of life and loved her family, friends, and her dog, Lillie. Also, she enjoyed collecting antiques, playing cards, dominos, shopping, and laughing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Downs, Sr., son, Chuck Downs; and a sister, Suzanne Rippeteau.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Harris (Dale); two granddaughters, Ellie Harris Stenberg (Alan) and Emmie Harris; a sister, Jackie Conner; and four nieces and nephews, Cherie Conner (Hollie Smith), Chip Conner (Michelle), Jay Rippeteau (Kim); and Suzanna Rippeteau.

Graveside and interment services will be held Friday, April 30, 2021, at 11:00 A.M., Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers: Dale Harris, Alan Stenberg, Jay Rippeteau, Chip Conner, Jimmy Cartwright, Jerry Johnson, and Charlie Parks. The honorary pallbearers will be The One Heart Bible Study Group, Hendersonville Church of Christ, Norma Bundy, Brenda Page, Wanda and Larry Graham, Patsy and Don Litchford, Marina and Jerry Robinson, Pasty Graham, and Donna Johnson.
