Jason Bryan Lewis, age 50, passed away on January 31, 2024.   He was born on July 28, 1973 in Nashville, Tennessee to Charles and Regeina McCoin Lewis.  Jason is preceded in death by his mother, Regeina McCoin Lewis; grandparents, Marion Sidney Knight McCoin, J.T. McCoin, Lois Carter Lewis, and Lawrence A. Lewis; and uncle, Hal Loss.  He is survived by his loving father, Charles B. Lewis; devoted step-mother, Matilda Bowen-Lewis; very special aunt, Debra Loss; step-brother, Ceballas Carter; step-aunts, Shelia Bowen, Jennifer Haynes (Victor), and Sandra Bowen; step-uncles, Clifford Bowen (Eileen), Gerald Bowen (Ena), and Derek Bowen; best friend, Brian Jason “BJ” Coulter; close friend, Shane Butler; and numerous cousins and friends.

Jason graduated from Hendersonville High School and then went on to attend University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  Jason was an excellent athlete.  From 1984 to 1990, he swam competitively for Indian Lake Swim Club and Star & Excel Swim Clubs.  He competed in the Nashville Swim League winning MVP in the city meet.   Jason won many awards and trophies on the local level, statewide, and the Southeast region.  He swam in the High School State meet for Hendersonville High School.  He also participated in track, cross country, and football at Hendersonville High School.  Jason attended church at Hendersonville Church of God.  

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service being held immediately following visitation at Hendersonville Funeral Home 353 E. Main Street Hendersonville, Tennessee.  Repast will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Hampton Inn & Suites 111 Saundersville Rd Hendersonville, Tennessee.

For those unable to attend, the Celebration of Life will be available to livestream using the link on Jason’s online obituary at www.hendersonvillefh.com.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Sumner County in Jason’s honor.
