Jerry Michael Bess, born November 4, 1964, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on September 21, 2026.

Mike will be remembered as a man whose presence brought warmth to those around him. He had an infectious smile, was always kind to others, and loved spending time with his family. Those who knew him will remember the easy comfort of his company and the genuine spirit he carried into everyday life.

He worked in the Tool and Die industry as a Tool and Die maker, a role that reflected his skill and dedication. Outside of work, Mike found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed watching the Tennessee Titans, watching golf and NASCAR races, and treasured evenings spent sitting around the fire pit, listening to music. These were the moments that suited him best—time shared, stories exchanged, and laughter carried into the night.

At the heart of Mike’s life was his family. He is survived by his son, James Bess (Jayme), and his daughter, Hannah Bess (Nick Groves). He also leaves behind his mother, Barbara Bess; Sister Penny Hargett (Ken); his grandchildren, Serenity Bess and Jordayn Bane; his niece, Shelley Edel (Brandon); and his nephew, Justin Hargett (Anna). He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Howard Bess, and by his niece, Chelsey King.

Mike Bess will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memory live on in family gatherings, in music by the fire, in quiet days spent fishing, and in every smile that recalls his own.
