Obituary

Jerry Douglas Rush, born on October 8, 1954, in Augusta, Georgia, passed away on February 20, 2026. After dedicating a significant portion of his life to public service, Jerry retired in February 2012, having spent 25 years working as a lieutenant on the Highway Patrol for the State of Tennessee. His commitment to his profession and the community was evident throughout his career. He attended First Baptist Church Hendersonville.

Fishing was a lifelong passion for him, providing moments of peace and reflection.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jerry was a proud high school athlete, recognized as a top-ranked track competitor, particularly in the high hurdles. This dedication to excellence was a hallmark of his character, influencing many aspects of his life.
