Mr. Jimmy Ethney Wilson, age 70, of Hendersonville passed away on June 9, 2024. Jimmy was born in Jackson County, Tennessee on January 23, 1954 to the late Ethney and Versie Wilson.
Jimmy Wilson will be remembered as a great husband, loving father, reliable friend, and hardworking family man. He dedicated 45 years of service to Bridgestone in La Verge, streamline maintenance systems and computer codes. His love for his family was immense, and fueled his willingness to be there for his friends, setting the example for his children. His love for the outdoors could only be rivaled by the love he held for his family and friends. He enjoyed a day on the lake fishing as much as one on his beloved motorcycle, or just simply sitting on his porch. But where Jimmy truly excelled was with his hands, he could work on or with anything, a true Handyman. There are so many things that he loved to do like cookouts, bonfires, camping, and making jewelry just to name a few. He was always present for every event that his children and grandchildren had. He really was a great man and will be deeply missed by all that love him.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his five sisters, Betty Jo Lancaster, Betty Sue Wilson, Joann Copass, Willadean Meadows, and Gail Rose.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Theresa Wilson; daughters, Virginia Harmon (Jesse) and Jennifer Matthews (Chris); grandchildren, Jessica Wilson, Jordan Wilson, and Addyson Matthews; and his brother, Gene Wilson.
A graveside service for Jimmy will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Hendersonville Memory Gardens (353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075).
