Jo Evans

Jo Hazel Evans, age 97, passed away on October 19, 2026. She was born on November 14, 1928, in Savannah, Tennessee.

Jo was married to her beloved husband, Charles E. Evans, for more than 65 years until his passing. As a young woman, she moved to Nashville, where she began working for a jeweler on Church Street. Eventually, Jo opened her own shop, specializing in estate jewelry and fine antiques. She had an appreciation for beautiful and timeless things, which was reflected in both her work and her personal interests. In her spare time, she especially enjoyed tending to the Old English flower gardens in her courtyard.

Jo was a faithful member of Hendersonville Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Evans; her parents, Hiram T. Bain and Martha Gerrard Bain; her children, Charles Michael Evans and Martha Carol Swafford; and her sister, Marie Bain Savely.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Rollins; her brother, Doug Bain; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
