Joanne Smith Kelley

Joanne Smith Kelley, a beloved registered nurse, passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 14, 1936, Joanne was a dedicated professional who spent many years caring for others in the nursing field after completing her education at St. Thomas School of Nursing, following her time at Minor Hill High School.

Outside of her nursing career, Joanne had many interests that brought joy to her life. She loved sewing and enjoyed spending time by the lake. She cherished moments spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always finding delight in their company. An avid sports fan, Joanne could often be found watching games, cheering enthusiastically for her favorite teams.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Smith and Mary Lee Smith; her grandson, Kelley Frost; and her ex-husband, John Kelley.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Mylinda Frost (David Haggard); her sister, Elaine Brindley; her grandchildren, David Frost (Heather), Brian Frost (Abbi), and Erin Parker (Jordy); her great-grandchildren, Taylor Frost, Jocelyn Frost, Evie Kate Frost, Lincoln Frost, John Frost, Lucy Parker, Joanna Parker, Laura Potteiger (Brooks), Providence, Felicity, Ransom, Scarlett Potteiger.

Joanne's burial will be held at 11:00 am on July 14, 2025, at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, located at 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hendersonville Church of Christ.

Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
