It is with broken hearts we announce that John (Jack) Emmer passed away on July 31, 2024 at the age of 90. He transitioned peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife Patricia (Rizzolo) Emmer, the love of his life, whom he met and married within 6 months. During their 60 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children, Lainie, Stephanie and Christopher, as well as eight grandchildren, Samantha, Nicole, Dana (who preceded him in death in 2012), Zachary, Jake, Christopher, Ariana and Danielle. They were also loving great-grandparents to Gianna, Sasha, Emelia and James.

Jack was born on February 25, 1934 in Newark, NJ to the late Sam and Rose (Kotler) Emmer. He was the younger of two children and is survived by his sister, Arlene (Emmer) Gold. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

After graduating from Hillside High School, he enlisted in the army and was stationed in Georgia. He recalled those days fondly and often regaled his family with hilarious stories of his time in service. He went on to become a successful businessman, owning and operating three Dairy Queen franchises, and ultimately opening All State Billiards Sales and Service, which he ran for forty five years. Upon his retirement in 2005, he moved to Tennessee.

Jack was an avid skier, water skier, song writer and jokester who loved vacationing with his family and hosting large family barbecues all summer, every summer. He was the ultimate family man, was loved immensely and will be missed forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Alzheimer's Association.
