John W. Walter, Jr., born on June 29, 1938, passed away on July 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished. John was a man whose gentle spirit and playful sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. Throughout his 88 years, his kindness and warmth touched many lives, and his memory will be treasured by family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Kronitz, Karen Chapman, Suzanne Fox, and Jennifer McManus, and his sons, John Walter and Mike Walter. His siblings, Richard Fava, Donna Montgomery, and Linda (John) Livingston. He was preceded by his mother, Raomi Ayers, his father, John W. Walter, Sr.; his brother Charles Fava, and his son-in-law, Lloyd Kronitz.

John’s heart was always with his family, and his greatest pride was found in the love, laughter, and togetherness they shared. His grandchildren lovingly called him "PopPop," a title he wore with immense pride. Those closest to him will remember John as adorable, funny, and truly lovable—a great man who brought joy wherever he went.

A loyal and dedicated employee, John devoted an impressive 47 years and 10 months to HS Crocker. His commitment and work ethic set a powerful example, showing the importance of persistence and pride in one’s career.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John embraced life with a joyful spirit and a deep appreciation for the simple things. He enjoyed trips to the casino, friendly games of bowling, and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles—though he was once an Orioles fan. Many will remember John relaxing on his patio, affectionately referring to it as his "paradise," where he found peace and contentment. He also never passed up an opportunity to enjoy a meal at Cracker Barrel or a favorite drink from Starbucks, two of the simple pleasures that brought him happiness.

All who knew John agree: he was someone everyone fell in love with. His cheerful presence, quick wit, and comforting smile made every gathering brighter. Friends and family alike hold close countless cherished memories.
