"In Loving Memory of Joseph “Mark” Brown

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph “Mark” Brown, who left us far too soon after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Mark passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion.

Mark was a beloved husband to his wife, Cathy, with whom he shared over 45 years of deep love and partnership. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Jarrod and Jeremy, who were the pride of his life, and the most adoring grandad to his cherished grandson, Jackson Mark, whose presence brought him endless joy.

Mark had a deep appreciation for life’s beauty. He was a talented and passionate photographer with a unique eye for capturing the world’s natural wonder. His love for the outdoors also found expression in his beautiful gardens, which he nurtured with care and pride. Mark also had a lifelong passion for music—one he joyfully shared with his sons through years of concert-going, shared playlists and an impressive vinyl collection. He was also an avid traveler who found joy and inspiration exploring countless National Parks across the country with his family, creating treasured memories in the landscapes he loved so much.

Known for his selflessness, generosity, and gentle spirit, Mark lived his life in service to others, always putting the needs of his family before his own. He gave freely, loved deeply, and made everyone around him feel seen and valued.

To know Mark, is to love him and his absence leaves a hole in our hearts that words cannot fill. His love, his laughter, and his presence will be missed more than we can ever express. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

Mark was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George and Wanda Brown; his brothers, Michael and Timothy Brown; and his nephews, Ranson Barnett and Chris Terrell.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Cathy Brown; his sons, Jarrod Brown (Chelsea) and Jeremy Brown; and his beloved grandson, Jackson Mark Brown. He also leaves behind his brother, Phillip Brown (Debbie); his sisters, Debra Whitney and Jennifer Barnett; as well as many loving cousins, extended family members, and a host of dear friends whose lives he touched deeply.

A private service will be held for family and close friends."
