Kelly Tipton
May 28, 1959 - January 24, 2021

It is with heavy hearts we inform you that Kelly Tipton passed away peacefully at her home on January 24th 2021 with her family by her side. Kelly was the daughter of Mrs. Diane and the late Mr. Richard Schrimsher. Kelly was born on May 28th, 1959 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her family moved to Herlong California in 1963 and then on to Los Angeles California in 1967. Kelly graduated from Carson High School in 1977. Kelly met Joe Tipton in 1991, in Palmdale California. They moved to Nashville Tennessee in 1992. They were engaged in 1993 and married on December 31st, 1995.

Kelly was the mother of two daughters, Shanon Rae Turner (Husband, Nicholas Turner) born in 1979, and Stephanie Victoria O'Brien (Husband, Bowe O'Brien), born in 1983. Kelly has 5 grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. Preston Blake Turner, LilyAna Mae Turner, Wylder Radley Smith, Jude Cash O'Brien and Birdie Bowe O'Brien.
Kelly is survived by 5 sisters. Deborah Willis (Husband, Steve Willis), Pattye O'Shaughnessy (Husband, Kevin O'Shaughnessy), Lynn Marlowe, Bianca Danielsen (Husband, Robert Danielsen), and Tina Warrack.

Kelly was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was an incredible wife and mother who loved her daughters and husband with deep affection. Her energy inspired everyone. She had a great love for life, an incredible work ethic, and a natural talent for fashion and interior design. She loved working in her yard and taking care of her flower beds. Kelly always had interesting, fun jobs during her lifetime. One job in particular, was working for Reba Mcentire for many years before retiring to become a housewife and proud grandmother.

Kelly had a passion for the world and its people. She was always exploring new cultures, favoring the Italian, British, French and Native American cultures. She loved to entertain and always had a magical air about her, charming everyone she welcomed into her home. She curated her home to be a space that was electric as it was elegant; a welcoming space that no one ever wanted to leave (and a pantry stocked with goodies and treats that no grandchild, niece or nephew could resist). Aside from her family and animals, her true loves were vintage clothing and jewelry. Kelly loved to sew, dance, travel and spend time at the beach.

Kelly was the driving force behind most family vacations and family celebrations. She was the heart and soul of her extended family; and was a role model for all whom she met. Kelly will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Kelly's funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue, Nashville, Tn. 37203. After the Mass a funeral procession will depart for the Hendersonville Memory Gardens, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tn. 37075. The funeral will begin graveside at 1:00pm.

A celebration of her life will be planned in the future.

Kelly's husband, Joe Tipton, never missed a day telling her he loved her. For the past 30 years, each day, he would tell her, "I'll love you every day and twice on Sunday"
