Kristy Green McCorkle
December 10, 1964 – August 7, 2025
Kristy Green McCorkle, age 60, was born in Hendersonville, Tennessee, on December 10, 1964, to Edward Henry Green and Margaret Ann Boyd Green. After a brave two-year battle with ovarian cancer, she departed for heaven on August 7, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Kristy attended Goodpasture Christian School and Tennessee Technological University, graduating with a degree in psychology. She met her future husband Christopher McCorkle at the wedding of mutual friends. After their marriage on January 29, 2009, they moved to Dallas, Texas, where she pursued a Masters of Social Work at the University of Texas and careers in pharmaceutical sales and social work.
Kristy was survived by her beloved family: Debbie Green Sutherland and Charles Sutherland, Vince Davis, and her treasured aunts, Beth Olive, Minerva Arnold, and Molly Edmondson. She was the proud aunt of Owen Green and Lee Green, and great-aunt to Maddie Green Wallis, Morgan Green, Gus Green, and Willa Green. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Christopher McCorkle, her parents Edward Green and Margaret Ann Green, her dear brother, Jerry Green, and her aunt Nancy Rosso.
Like her mother before her, Kristy had a big heart and she loved deeply. She loved her family and never missed an opportunity to be with them. She was the life of the party but she was also attentive to their lives whether in times of challenge or celebration.
Kristy was a lover and advocate for all that God created, including people, animals, insects, and plants. Through the years, her cats were truly her pride and joy, her cherished children.
She also fiercely loved her friends, and it would fill pages were we to try to list them. She was loyal and generous and joyful and brought to each friendship the compassion of Christ and her constant spirit of fun.
Most of all she loved Jesus. She became a member of Community Church of Hendersonville after returning to Tennessee where she worshipped with passion and served faithfully. She spoke of Jesus to everyone she met – often with words but even more so with generous, intentional acts of kindness that reflected His heart that lived in her.
Kristy’s strength, passion, generosity, and joy will be so missed by all of us, but none of us can imagine anyone who could love Heaven more.
A celebration of Kristy’s life and homecoming will be held at Community Church of Hendersonville, 381 West Main St., on Saturday, August 16, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until the service.
