Lawrence Alex (Larry) Logsdon, Jr., passed away Thursday, April 14th, one day after his 68th birthday. He collapsed of a heart attack after completing a home improvement project. He fought valiantly for thirteen days having not regained consciousness.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents and beloved son John and stepson Paul Holloway. He is survived by his adored wife Regina; sons Mat (Carrie), Charlie (Lila), and Keith Holloway (Erin); grandkids Haley Langston (Cody), Casey Anderson (Kyle), Linzy, Ellie, Ford, Landry and Lena Logsdon, Cooper and Graham Holloway; great grands Addy and Graycee Langston; sister Mojra Logsdon (Karen), brother Eric Logsdon (Kris); nieces, nephews, and a slew of “extra” kids (you know who you are!).
Larry loved the Lord, and this was evident throughout his life. This was particularly evident in his last 13 days here on earth, as so many vocalized the impact he leaves behind. He was described as a “bright light” at work, where he was winding up his career as the Warehouse Manager at Trousdale Turner Correctional Facility in Hartsville, Tennessee, where he loved working with inmates. His career background was in logistics and light industry management – primarily in aftermarket auto parts which was a great fit for him as a “gearhead.”
He was deeply patriotic, loved playing with his ‘66 Mustang and whatever and wherever else Regina drug him. Over the years, he served several non-profit organizations, generally, as the treasurer and also served the City of Hendersonville, Tennessee, as an Alderman.
He adored his sons, their wives, and his grandkids – adding to that the new great grands. He loved attending any and all of their extracurriculars. He was always so proud of each one of them.
He was a steady, quiet, dependable man with a terrific sense of humor. Larry NEVER called out of work. His yes meant “yes” and his no “no.” If he said he would do/be there, you could bank on it . . . every single time.
Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Monday evening, April 18th, from 4:00-7:00 pm. A short visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 19th, with an hour of visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 and the service will begin at 10:00 am at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
